the artist curator, exhibition maker, producer and festival director studied under achim freyer at the berlin university of the arts. in the mid-1990s, his work began as a curator focusing on sound and art. festival and exhibition projects led him a.o. to hanover, berlin, vienna, seoul, london, karlsruhe, prague, copenhagen, ostrava, halberstadt, maribor, meaford, opava, jihlava, slovenj gradec, umeå and porrentruy. he is the founder and artistic director of tonspur kunstverein wien. georg weckwerth received an award as art mediator in 2010 at the prix ars electronica. he was born in 1965 in herzberg am harz and lives and works in vienna, hattorf am harz and berlin.
